This library is created to provide the literature in the field of the main scientific activity of the Laboratory that is studies in history and theory of the ancient church music, and history of Ukrainian sacred music. The priority is defined by the theme of liturgical singing in the Greek-Byzantine rite (sacred monody), and catholic rite (Gregorian chant), as well as singing of the Southern Slavs, in Kyivan Rus, and early modern Ukraine.

In October 2023 the family of prof. Yurij Medvedyk presented to the Laboratory a scientific treasure – his private library and archive. For decades the researcher collected books related to medieval and source studies, codicology, and concomitant historical, philological, and cultural studies.

The laboratory also owns the private library of Myroslav Antonovych that contains reseach of Franko-Flemish music, Ukrainian sacred monody and partes siniging, as well as other cultural studies of the 16th-18th centuries.
